Pathways Danbury is dedicated to helping the emerging generation find their way through the various challenges and obstacles that they face everyday. Research has shown that one-on-one mentoring is one of the most effective ways to redirect young men and get them on the road toward a “bright and positive future.”
In an article titled, Where Need Meets Opportunity: Youth Development Programs for Early Teens, author Jane Quinn states, “Children with mentors are 46% less likely to do drugs, 33% less likely to resort to violence, 53% less likely to drop out of school, and 59% more likely to improve their grades. One-to-one mentoring has also been shown to lower the rates of teen pregnancy, suicide, and gang involvement in communities.”
